Medical Biller and Coder Express Care of Belleview Belleview, FL 34420 Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding and timely submission of claims. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical records efficiently. The Medical Biller will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our practice while providing excellent service to our patients. Duties Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and government payers. Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems, including ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG, to ensure accurate billing. Review patient records for completeness and accuracy before submitting claims. Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process effectively. Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries. Maintain organized medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing or a related field is preferred. Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9). Familiarity with DRG classifications and their application in billing processes. Experience working within a medical office environment is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare providers.
