Remote Key Responsibilities:
Review Billing Errors:

Analyze and correct billing errors and edits related to a physician’s office

Clearinghouse Rejections:

Work on clearing house rejections and ensure claims are billed within 24 hours.

Demographics Entry:

Accurately enter patient and guarantor details.

Insurance Details:

Ensure correct entry of insurance information.

Charge Entry:

Enter charges with all necessary details like date of service, providers, procedure codes, and modifiers.

Productivity and Quality:

Adhere to productivity and quality standards.

Process Improvement:

Suggest improvements and forecast workflow challenges.

Qualifications:
Experience:

2-3 years in physician billing.
Healthcare Billing is required

Education:

HS Diploma. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Knowledge in medical coding and billing systems

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Excel, payer portals, and claims clearinghouses.

Additional Duties:
Root Cause Analysis:

Identify and address the root causes of issues in accounts receivable.

Regulatory Compliance:

Maintain knowledge of federal and state regulations and payer-specific requirements.

Problem Solving:

Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness in resolving accounts and meeting standards. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to meet productivity and quality standards.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is between $19.00 – 21.00 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
