- We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for submitting and following up on claims with auto insurance companies to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Responsibilities
- Review and verify accuracy of billing and coding
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard Personal Injury billing cycle timeframe
- Check each insurance payment for accuracy
- Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary
- Utilize electronic billing software to prepare and follow-up on claims
- Prepare and submit unpaid/underpaid claims for demand if necessary.
- Complete and timely aging on pending claims/accounts.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience working in medical billing
- Proficiency in CPT coding, ICD-10, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with medical billing systems and procedures
- Knowledge of Personal Injury (PIP) medical collections practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
