We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medicaid Biller to join our team. The Medicaid Biller will be responsible for processing and submitting claims to Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing, and resolving any issues related to payment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of claims, and in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and process Medicaid claims for accuracy and completeness. Submit Medicaid claims through appropriate systems and ensure timely follow-up. Verify patient eligibility and benefits to ensure accurate billing. Resolve claim discrepancies and denials by working with insurance providers, patients, and healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation. Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to resolve billing issues. Monitor and track outstanding claims and payments. Ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations and state/federal billing guidelines. Stay up-to-date on changes to Medicaid policies and billing requirements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred). Proven experience as a Medicaid Biller or in a similar billing/medical coding role. Strong understanding of Medicaid billing processes and guidelines. Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to analyze and resolve billing issues efficiently. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills. Knowledge of healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance, and insurance terminology. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (CPC, CBCS, or equivalent). Knowledge of New Mexico Medicaid policies. Experience working with healthcare providers in a similar environment.
