Medical Collection Specialist (This is not a remote position) Excellence Health Daytona Beach, FL 32119 Job Summary (This is not a remote position) We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Collector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding medical debts, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing processes and terminology, as well as excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and insurance companies. Duties Review and analyze patient accounts to identify outstanding balances and collection opportunities. Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, payment options, and any necessary documentation. Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve claims issues and ensure timely payments. Maintain accurate records of collection activities, payments received, and account statuses in the medical office systems. Utilize knowledge of

ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG

coding, and medical terminology to effectively manage collections. Work closely with the billing department to address discrepancies and improve overall revenue cycle efficiency. Follow up on unpaid claims and initiate collection procedures as necessary while adhering to legal guidelines. Experience Previous experience in medical billing or collections is preferred. Familiarity with medical records management and coding systems is essential. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to billing processes. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in using medical office software and systems for tracking collections.
