Job Description
Medical Biller Optimum Health Care, LLC Macon, GA 31210 We’re seeking a certified , driven, and experienced Medical Billing Lead to join our expanding team. In this vital role, you’ll manage day-to-day billing operations, lead a team of billing specialists, and ensure claims are processed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of cardiology billing regulations and coding standards, with a strong focus on compliance, efficiency, and maximizing reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
Supervise, train, and mentor a team of billing specialists Guide team members through complex billing issues, denials, and coding questions Monitor performance and productivity, ensuring department goals are met Promote a collaborative, positive team environment
Billing Operations:
Oversee the full billing cycle: charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, and A/R follow-up Review billing documents and claims for accuracy and compliance with federal/state/payer regulations Resolve complex billing discrepancies, denials, and rejections Collaborate with providers and departments to obtain required documentation
Process Improvement & Compliance:
Recommend improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and optimize revenue Stay updated on coding changes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and payer policies Ensure all billing practices follow HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance regulations Analyze A/R reports to identify trends and areas for improvement
Patient & Payer Communication:
Address and resolve escalated patient billing concerns with professionalism and empathy Communicate with payers to resolve claim issues and ensure timely reimbursement
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (required) Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (required)
Experience:
2+ years in a supervisory or lead role Experience with EHR and billing software (Eclinical preferred) Cardiology billing experience highly preferred Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance processes
Skills:
Expertise in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to lead and motivate a team Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
