Medical Biller/Collector

Baton Rouge, LA Sage Rehabilitation Hospital is one of Baton Rouge’s premier rehab facilities is currently seeking a Medical Biller / Collector to support billing functions with external billing agencies including federal agencies, insurance carriers and private agencies in order to assure timely reimbursement for services. Essential daily duties include:
Review patient account files and ensures their accuracy for appropriate process
Receives and reviews past due bills and follow up documents
Prepares and maintains collection related records
Provide input into the budgetary planning process
Monitor the status of outstanding accounts and identifies those past due
Processes refunds to insurance companies for overpaid accounts
Qualifications:
Previous bookkeeping and varied clerical experience
General knowledge of purchasing, admissions, billing and collection procedures
Must be able to use e-mail, voicemail, computers to complete forms, spreadsheets/databases.
Excellent training and communication skills are required.
Must be excellent at time management
Must be able to balance needs of many direct reports
