Referral & Pre-certification Specialist [Advanced Spine and Brain/Orthopedics Clinics]

Full Time, 8am-4:30pm

SUMMARY:
Process daily procedure orders, coordinating with the patients, outside providers and hospitals to schedule testing. Track outstanding orders and coordinate with managed care plans to complete necessary pre-certifications and prior authorizations/notifications when required. Provide general front office back-up support when needed: processing faxes, reminder calls, assistance with check-out.
Required Education/Training:
High school diploma or equivalent; basic computer skills training
Required Experience:
Minimum one (1) year experience in a medical facility/office setting; proficiency with computers including use of Microsoft Office products
Preferred Education/Training:
Medical terminology course
Preferred Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a medical office setting; experience processing managed care pre-certifications and prior authorizations; experience with electronic medical record system
Preferred Certification/Licensure/Registration:
Certified Medical Assistant
