Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 37-40 hours/week

Join our established, physician-owned rheumatology practice where patient care, teamwork, and accuracy in billing are top priorities. We are seeking a motivated and experienced medical biller/coder who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and values professionalism and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Medical Coding & Chart Review Assign appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes based on provider documentation. Ensure compliance with Medicare LCDs/NCDs and commercial payer guidelines.
• Claims & Billing Submit clean claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans. Follow up on unpaid claims and correct coding errors to reduce denials.
• Patient Interaction Perform patient check-out, collect co-pays, and professionally communicate with patients regarding billing, balances, and insurance questions.
• Insurance Verification & Authorizations Verify insurance coverage and benefits.

Obtain prior authorizations as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of medical billing/coding experience (preferred)
• CPC certification or equivalent (preferred)
• Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and insurance billing rules
• Proficiency in denial resolution and appeals
• Familiarity with EHR and billing software
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Friendly and professional demeanor with patients and team members
