Position Summary As a Medical Payment Posting Representative, you’ll be on the front lines of ensuring billing accuracy and integrity for medical services rendered. You’ll play a critical role in processing patient and insurance payments, helping maintain compliance with internal processes, and supporting an overall mission of improving patient outcomes through operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Accurately post payments and adjustments from a variety of sources including electronic remittances, paper Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), checks, and patient portals. Follow strict departmental reconciliation processes to ensure clean and compliant payment records. Update patient demographics and account data to support accurate billing. Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding payments, ensuring timely and professional communication. Prioritize incoming tasks to maintain productivity goals and meet or exceed daily posting benchmarks. Review and post contractual adjustments, insurance denials, and other payment variances. Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate claim corrections and resubmissions when necessary. Organize and maintain documentation for refund requests and audit support. Maintain low error rates and high accuracy in data entry and documentation. Qualifications 1-2+ years of experience in medical billing, payment posting, or healthcare revenue cycle preferred. Strong understanding of EOBs, insurance terminology, and medical billing processes. Minimum one year experience in Microsoft Excel. Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) or practice management systems. High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and volume goals. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in billing or coding are a plus.
