The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing and coding for medical services, facilitating timely payments, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the billing process within a medical office environment. Duties Review and analyze patient records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems. Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Follow up on unpaid claims, resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the billing process. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, including payments received and outstanding balances. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or coding. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance. Assist in the management of medical collections as necessary, including communicating with patients regarding their accounts. Qualifications 2-3 years medical billing experience Prefers experience with ECE Medicaid and Medicaid experience
