Under the direction of the Circuit Clerk, the Deputy Circuit Clerkprovides support service to theCircuit Clerks office by providing assistance to attorneys and thegeneral public. The incumbentperforms data entry for seven (7) different courts, filing, ledger entryand typing. The incumbentprovides assistance to the public in the filing of lawsuits for seven(7) different courts. Providingservice to the Court in the selection of the Jury is part of this job.
Records of attendance and pay-out reports must be kept. In addition, the incumbent prepares variousreports, assists withtelephone calls, and provides back up in the Child Support area withdata entry, when necessary.
Indexing, proofing and scanning of Real Estate documents are importantduties of this incumbent.
All functions should be performed efficiently and in accurate, timely,and professional manneras accurate data entry and records are of vital importance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
including the following: Otherdutiesmay be assigned.
Perform data entry for seven (7) courts.
Provide assistance to the public in filing of lawsuits, answeringquestions, etc, either onthe telephone or in person.
Provide assistance to attorneys, to include filing new lawsuits, filingof re-opens, issuesummons, executions, writs of garnishment, subpoenas, notary bonds, filepleadings asthey are received and make certified copies.
Prepare Certification of Authentications for Out of State Courts.
File for all courts to include separating court work, numbering orders,docketingpleadings and indexing by year and case number, preparing and typingsummons andwrits of garnishment and returning requested certified copies by mail.

Provide assistance to attorneys, surveyors, and abstractors, completeinformation sheets,make copies for customers and assist them in searches for old records.
Assist surveyorswith plats and surveys, by making copies.
Keep pleadings in numerical and court order for the purpose of filing incorrect court files.
Maintain accurate records and reports of Jurors for 1st through 7thDivisions Courts,when necessary.
Call Jurors to report for duty. Call Jurors back to not report when caseis settled beforetrial date.
Attend Court, call attendance, help to seat the 12 person jury, swear inthe Jury, swearin the witnesses.
Prepare the list for the 1st through 7th Division Court Jurors eachquarter and send to theSheriffs Office. Prepare worksheets for the judicial department on allcases filed andterminated.
Prepare and ma il out all juror payment/information for the 1st through6th Division Courtand send to the Comptrollers office.
Receive, index, record, certify and mail out mortgages, deeds, financingstatements, releases, liens and surveys and other instrument that arerecorded.
Fill out divorce coupons with the case number, plaintiff and defendantsnames thatare filing, date married, and when the divorce is final. Mail to thestate for recording.
Proof read all computer entries ensuring accurate entry. Makecorrections, as necessary.
Filing pleadings into case files for 6 divisions of case files. Insurethat all juvenilerecords are maintained in a confidential manne
