• How•You’ll-Make a Difference•As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, youwill perform daily duties to help create lasting impressions andbuild trust and loyalty with patients.

Assist with the direction to DA office team throughout the dayto maintain productive patient flow. Assist the doctors during a variety of treatmentprocedures. Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists. Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatoryand ensures all staff is properly trained and compliant on theprocess. Follow maintenance schedules for flushing waterlines/suctionlines, and/or waterline testing, autoclave, and compressor on adaily, weekly, or monthly basis. Tray and operatory set-up for all procedures. Support patient charting for doctors at a proficientlevel. Ability to train others to execute patient handoffs and monitorpatient flow within the practice. Follow OSHA regulations and Aspen safety requirements,including compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Take dental radiographs (X-rays). Provide patients with instructions for oral care following alldental treatment procedures. Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies tomaintain oral health. Complete denture soft relines and manufactures temporarycrowns. Monitor and aid in management of laboratory cases. Perform quality intraoral health scan of patients under 5minutes. Understanding of clear aligner process with the ability toarticulate and teach. Ability to take quality impressions and biteregistrations. Perform additional expanded functions based on certification(s)to support patient care (coronal polishing, restorative functions,etc.). Ensures emergency kits and oxygen tanks are maintained. Ability to order and maintain supplies in accordance withpractice budget. Perform various office tasks as necessary.

Requirements andQualifications Current Dental Assistant License, Registration, Certificationas required by state. Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state. Current CPR or BLS certificate. 2+ years’ experience as a Dental Assistant. Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry. Demonstrate and provide instruction on proper sterilization andinfection control techniques. Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified bystate. State Certification in expanded functions as required bystate.
