Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a dedicated Scale House Attendant to support our expanding operations. This position will primarily involve monitoring and managing vehicle traffic, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

As a Scale House Attendant you will be responsible for operating the scale house, ensuring accurate weighing of vehicles, and maintaining detailed records. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Operate truck scales to weigh inbound and outbound vehicles, ensuring accurate measurements Generate and issue scale tickets for all loads, entering data into the company database Determine proper disposal fees based on defined formulas and established criteria. Perform initial inspections of loads to ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including weights, fees, and customer information Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and assisting drivers with scale procedures Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of the scale house and surrounding area Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety protocols

What We’re Looking For:

High school diploma or GED equivalent Previous experience in a similar role or in the waste management industry is a plus Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and customer service skills Proficiency in using computer systems and data entry software Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
