Job Description Deputy Clerk position requires performance of a variety of duties for the Court and the Clerk ofCourt which require a thorough knowledge and understanding of court policies and procedures aswell as a basic understanding of the Florida Rules of Appellate Procedure. The essential functions ofthe position are to open, process and manage all appeals filed in the Court and to provideexemplary customer service both to the judiciary and other members of the Court as well as to thepublic. The Deputy Clerks are also responsible for related clerical tasks. The Deputy Clerk will workas part of a team of clerks and, although each deputy clerk has discrete responsibilities, theseduties will change from time to time. Thus, the examples of work listed herein are not descriptive ofany one deputy clerk position but are meant to be illustrative of the duties of a deputy clerk. Filetrack all cases in and out of clerk’s office; docket all filings and orders; Review files beforeassignment to ensure that all briefs, records and pleadings are in proper order; Reshelf case filesand exhibits; Scan documents, receive pleadings filed electronically; Prepare clerk’s orders, usingcorrect rule citation and in accordance with court directive; Prepare oral argument calendar, createopinion list and opinion pack.
