The Recorder’s Court administer justice with fairness, equality, and integrity, to resolve matters before the court in a timely manner, and to provide courteous and prompt service in a manner that inspires public trust and confidence. Our team of Deputy Court Clerks, Senior Deputy Court Clerks, Court Services Specialists, Chief Deputy Court Clerk, Administrative Clerks, Senior Administrative Assistant, Judicial Secretaries, Cashiers, Case Disposition Clerks, Customer Services Representatives, Court Services Technicians, and director, works collaboratively to maintain a professional court environment and manage the daily operations of the Recorder’s Court smoothly while upholding a safe environment where all employees can succeed. As we continue to grow our small team of 28, the Recorder’s Court team is seeking a skilled individual with knowledge of court rules, legal terminology, practices and court room procedures, file and database management who is ready to assist with the day-to-day administrative of the Recorder’s Court.

As the Case Disposition Clerk you will process adjudicated court cases making entries on the court docket that record the sentence on the charges.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Enters fines and fees into court computer system.

Reschedules cases for attorneys and defendants as required.

Bind cases to state and superior court.

Send failure to appear notices to defendants and DDS.Sends failure to appear release letters to the DMV to correct or clear a defendant’s license.

Mails payment plans, fax letters to DMV and check dockets to verify the case is closed.

Types clearance letters or court corrections and fax to the Department of Driver Services.

Performs various customer service functions, answers telephone, directs all incoming calls to appropriate party promptly and efficiently, responds to inquiries from the public, City Officials or other City departments.

Prepares documents, records, reports, and forms requiring knowledge of programs, policies, ordinances, codes, and procedures.

Research, compile, consolidate, and/or tabulate information; incorporates information into requested reports and other prepared materials; proofreads for accuracy and completeness; and distributes upon approval.

Enters information into department programs and databases; updates database information; creates new spreadsheets/files; and purges old data as appropriate.

Researches information from databases and incorporates into other assignments.

Assist cashiers with issuing new court dates or discrepancies, providing assistance with closing reports that do not balance, and deposits.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Knowledge of Recorder’s Court organization, policies, and procedures.

Knowledge of modern office management practices, procedures, and equipment.

Skill in entering data accurately and rapidly.

Skill in planning and organizing work.

Skill in operating such office equipment as a computer, copier, and facsimile machine.
