The City of Stockbridge has an excellent job opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to the Municipal Court to provide support in all administrative and clerical functions related to the operation of the court, including receiving, examining, preparing, and processing a variety of legal documents in support of court operations, and other duties as required by law. The Administrative Assistant is a full-time non-exempt position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive and examines legal documents for accuracy, completeness and conformity; Receive, review, processes, certifies and prepares required legal documents and records for court sessions; Files legal documents and related case materials, retrieves and delivers files and documents to court or appropriate parties, maintains court records and files; Advises attorneys, agencies and the public on case status; Prepare documents in conformance with court orders, issues legal documents; Accept fines and fees, maintain and updates financial records; Prepare court calendars and/or schedule cases for hearings, conferring with the appropriate individuals according to established procedures; Perform a variety of office and municipal court support work, prepares letters, correspondence, forms, and other documents, maintains copies of documents, operates computers, maintains and updates files and databases, generates computer reports, operates office equipment, manage records management. Maintain and retrieve archived records; Attend court sessions, may takes minutes of actions and proceedings. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma with three (3) years of experience or an Associate’s degree in criminal justice or a closely related field supplemented by two (2) years of experience performing responsible administrative support duties; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job; must be proficient with Microsoft Office Word & Excel; must have excellent customer service skills & communications skills both orally and written and experience working in a professional office environment.
