Job Description

Deputy Clerk / License Office Clerk City of Monroe City Missouri Monroe City, MO 63456 Job Summary This position will provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the city’s administrative functions and license office contract. This role encompasses general administrative duties as well as cross training in various capacities in order for the office to function in the absence of other staff. This position will be supervised by the City Clerk.

Key Responsibilities:
General Administrative Duties:

Manage and organize office files, both electronic and physical Prepare and proofread correspondence, reports, and other documents Handle incoming calls and direct them appropriately. Support all departments with administrative tasks as needed Utility billing duties as needed

Deputy Clerk Duties:

Handle incoming payments accordingly and balancing funds daily Assist with utility payments, billing, work orders Provide City Clerk duties in the absence of the City Clerk Council/Committee Meeting agendas and minutes Property Insurance Oversight and monitoring of hold harmless agreements Business/Liquor License processing & issuing NECAC payment processing Records Retention Notary Other duties as assigned

License Office Clerk Duties:

Renewals (in person & online) Processing of titles, driver’s licenses, permits, government IDs License Plate Registrations CDL Processing Processing deposits as outlined by the state Handle incoming calls and direct them appropriately

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in business administration or related field preferred Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Excellent organizational and time-management skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and be cross trained for an effective work environment This role is ideal for individuals looking to utilize their administrative skills within a public entity while contributing to the overall success of the office.

Job Type:
Full-time Pay:

$18.75 – $26.89 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
