Booking Room Technician Cumberland County – 2.6 Fayetteville, NC Job Details Full-time $37,085.34 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Surveillance Communication skills Entry level Under 1 year Full Job Description JOB The Booking Technician is a non-sworn position responsible for performing administrative and clerical duties related to the intake and processing of individuals entering the detention facility. This role includes data entry, phone communications, housing assignments, camera monitoring, and working alongside sworn staff. Although the Booking Technician works in close proximity to inmates, they have no direct contact with them. A strong, confident personality and the ability to maintain focus in a secure, fast-paced environment are essential. This position requires the utmost confidentiality, accountability, and attention to detail.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Accurately input inmate booking information into the jail management system (JMS), including arrest details, charges, bond amounts, and other relevant data.

Monitor surveillance cameras and inmate movement, reporting any suspicious or irregular activity to the appropriate staff.

Maintain accurate digital and physical records related to booking and housing.

Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, ensuring compliance with all facility policies, state laws, and privacy standards.

Prepare and verify documentation, booking packets, and reports to support intake and classification operations.

Assign inmates to housing units and cells based on classification protocols provided by sworn personnel.

Prepares and updates records, enters data, and submits reports; this will be done with a high level of accountability.

Follow security protocols. Maintain situational awareness in a secure environment and display confidence while working around inmates.

Adhere to detention center policies and procedures, follow court orders, and maintain confidentiality of inmate information.
