RESPONSIBILITIES
The Albany County Alternate Public Defender’s Office is seeking attorneys for assignment in our Family Court Office. The ideal can-didate will have a strong commitment to public defense; specifically providing high quality legal representation to indigent parents in Family Court matters. We are looking for attorneys with experience in Family Court who can handle assignments to represent parties in custody and family offense matters (both Petitioners and Respondents), and also the defense of child neglect and child abuse mat-ters. The starting salary is commensurate with the experience of the applicant. Excellent fringe benefits are provided; including health insurance, dental and vision insurance, paid leave, and membership in the New York State Retirement system.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Attorney with a New York State bar admission (or ability to waive into New York State from another jurisdiction).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Must be admitted to the New York State Bar Association.
