Pay Range Anticipated Hiring Range:

$22.25 – $28.63 hourly

Full Range:

$22.25 – $35.00 hourly Salary is based on the candidates’ equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. A higher wage would only be offered based on direct court-related or legal experience (i.e. such as that with a law firm). Additional questions regarding pay can be discussed with HR during the hiring process if you are offered a position. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated work week. As the Administrative Courtroom Clerk, you’ll be responsible for recording and memorializing court proceedings by attending court sessions, administering oaths to witnesses and juries, and maintaining exhibits offered in a courtroom as evidence. You will be right in the center of the courtroom action, working very closely with the judge and courtroom assistant. This defined retirement benefit requires a 12.27% monthly contribution rate and includes a 100% employer match on Day 1 Learn more at Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ We Require Three years of clerical, legal office, or court-related experience High School Diploma or GED Post-secondary education may substitute for two years of the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis Job Contributions Attend all sessions of court, record court proceedings in a note-taking manner, and transcribe notes into standard minute entry format within established timeframes Determine the correct parties/agencies entitled to receive copies of minute entries Record and secure exhibits presented for court proceedings Communicate oaths, affirmations, and contents of court documents to court participants Receive, process, and/or issue court documents, including protective orders, jail releases, warrants, and confidential orders Proofread and edited work with a high degree of accuracy and detail Maintain a list of cases under advisement for quarterly submission to the Supreme Court Participate in large group training or one-on-one mentoring Working Conditions Work is primarily performed in an office setting that consists of a high-volume and fast-paced environment with long periods of sitting while completing computer activities May require occasional weekend work; teleworking based on business needs and supervisor approval Ability to frequently ascend and descend 1-3 steps to the work area, with or without accommodation Ability to travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles on County business Ability to lift, carry, push, push, or pull boxes and other items of up to 20 pounds Selected candidates must successfully complete and pass a criminal background check Selection Procedure Only the most qualified candidates will be considered Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive Maricopa County is an equal opportunity employer.
