POSITION:
Part Time Assistant District Attorney
REPORTS TO
Somerset County District Attorney
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assistant District Attorney is responsible for handling all assigned cases from the initial stages to and through the final stages, including appeal, if appropriate. They are expected to devote appropriate time to the position as is necessary to accomplish all tasks.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
The Assistant District Attorney must be a graduate of an accredited law school and be a member in good standing of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
The Assistant District Attorney must be knowledgeable with all aspects of cases subject to prosecution by relevant Pennsylvania statutes, and be knowledgeable with the Rules of Criminal Procedure and the functioning of the criminal justice system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant District Attorney must devote sufficient time to accomplish all required duties.
