Purpose of Job The purpose of this classification is to greet public visitors, answer questions regarding the Knox County Chancery Court, accept documents for filing, enter data into the Court’s case management system, and work as a team with other deputy clerks to ensure the efficient and accurate flow of information. Essential Functions The Administrative Clerk is responsible for the following essential functions: Greet, communicate effectively with, and actively assist persons bringing matters before the Court. Collect, record, and issue receipts for all funds received by the Court. Provide the highest level of customer service by receiving and responding to a variety of questions and requests from parties, attorneys, and the public for information about the Court’s policies, procedures, and cases. Collect, process, and record filings and other documents; assign docket numbers; and open case files. Perform administrative support work such as word processing, scanning, copying, creating reports, entering and retrieving data, answering phones and managing incoming/outgoing mail (digital and paper). As part of a team of deputy clerks, assist with other duties as needed to ensure efficient and timely processing of information through the Court’s case management system. Additional Job Functions Ensure regular, punctual attendance during scheduled work hours. Perform other duties as required. Minimum Training & Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Minimum one (1) year experience in banking, billing, customer service or related field Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered for employment into the position.
