To assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the department(s) assigned to promote student learning
Qualifications:
Holds a high school diploma or equivalent Successful experience as a secretary Ability to use technology to communicate, manage data, and produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or school information Excellent organizational skills Proficiency in oral and written communication skills Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board might find appropriate and acceptable
Performance Responsibilities:
Handle attendance reporting, including daily, monthly, and end-of-year reports as assigned Manage all aspects of student registration Process student enrollments, transfers, and withdrawals Maintain cumulative folders Compile state and federal reports Maintain security of records, materials, and equipment Provide secretarial services for the principal and programs under administrators’ supervision (answer phone, greet visitors, etc.) as needed Maintain student records, post standardized test scores, initiate new records for incoming students, and forward required records for student transfers Prepare and send student transcripts to enrolling school/college Prepare memorandums, letters, forms, and other materials as assigned Distribute incoming mail, packages, and other materials Order and inventory office supplies needed to complete required tasks Maintain proper files for all documents as assigned Assist with all individual or business contracts Participate in training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignments Participate in cross-training activities Maintain confidentiality and high ethical standards Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with administrative staff, students, and the public Adhere to federal, state and local rules, regulations, and policies Notify the supervisor of potential problems or unusual events Properly uses and cares for equipment and material resources of the school system Supports and complies with school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local regulations Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor(s)
Terms of Employment/Salary:
10 month (202 Days) or 12 month (240 Days) as assigned / Non-Exempt / To be determined, commensurate with local salary matrix, credentials, and experience.
