Secretary Position Available In Escambia, Alabama

The Escambia County Commission Agency on Aging is seeking a dedicated and organized•Secretary•to support the Director and daily operations. This position requires strong clerical and computer skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work with and advocate for the senior population. The ideal candidate will be cross-trained to serve as a SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) Counselor and may fill in for various staff positions as needed.________________________________________

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Director with administrative tasks and agency operationsPerform clerical duties including filing, answering phones, and preparing reports in a timely mannerUse computer programs to maintain records, documentation, and data entryProvide assistance with Medicare-related inquiries (knowledge of Medicare is a plus)Be trained and certified as a SHIP counselor to assist seniors with health insurance needsMaintain dependable transportation; travel between senior centers may be requiredDeliver meals, with county vehicle, to seniors as a substitute driver when neededStand in for the Director during her absenceBuild rapport and work effectively with the older adult population________________________________________

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED requiredClean driving recordExperience clerical work preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office and other basic computer programsStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to work independently and take initiativeWillingness to train and become SHIP certifiedAbility to multitask and adapt to different roles as needed________________________________________Other duties may be assigned by the County Commission.
