Administrative Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS
: High school diploma or equivalent. Five years administrative support experience with one year preferred in an educational environment Knowledge and proficiency in utilization of computer. Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
: Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.
REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately prepare written and electronic correspondence. Receive and relay confidential/sensitive information in an appropriate manner. Adhere to local and state Board policies. Working knowledge of appropriate computer software. Working knowledge of office equipment. Provide general office services and support for department/director. Screen telephone calls and relay messages. Prepare documents and reports as needed by superintendent/director. Gather information and input data as needed. Assist with travel, event, and meeting arrangements. Maintain department/director calendar, records, and budgets. Issue purchase orders as needed. Maintain confidentiality of all Board of Education business. Assist with bid price compliance checks for invoices. Assist with preparation of annual state required reports. Organize and maintain files and manuals as needed. Assist with meeting and training session preparations. Provide support for office receptionist and other staff as needed. Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people Assume other reasonable and equitable job-related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
EVALUATION
: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
