The primary responsibility of this position is to work closely with and support the Development efforts of assigned areas in securing major gifts and recognizing major gift donors and volunteers. This includes performing administrative duties such as CRM input and management, grateful patient workflow, managing the O’Neal donor acknowledgement process, supporting activities of the two O’Neal volunteer boards and cultivation activities for the center, calendaring, and submitting reimbursements. The Development Coordinator works with the Directors of Development and other University personnel and must be able to function as an integral part of a team to facilitate successful fundraising programs. To be successful in this position, you must have a positive attitude and excellent networking skills. You must be a problem solver, be efficient, be able to proactively plan initiatives, and be able to manage multiple tasks at once. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Development of the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center within the Heersink School of Medicine. Position is full-time, on-site position.
General Responsibilities:
To work with and assist Directors of Development and Major Gifts Officers in identifying and cultivating potential major gift prospects for the school, center or unit as assigned. To promote the importance of philanthropy at UAB to faculty and staff. To work as integral team member to facilitate successful fund-raising programs.

Demonstrated excellence in written communication skills Excellent verbal communication skills Strong project management skills including time management Ability to work autonomously and in a team Strong analytical and organizational skills Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
Hourly Pay Range:
$19.80 – $32.15
Qualifications Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, Marketing or a related field required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement and 1 -2 years of fundraising or related experience required. Higher education experience is preferred.
