POSITION SUMMARY
The International Code Council (ICC) is a not-for-profit membership association dedicated to building safety and fire prevention. The ICC develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings and provides associated products and services in support of this mission. The ICC has four offices, based in Birmingham, Alabama; Country Club Hills, Illinois; Brea, California; and Washington, D.C. plus remote home-office staff. ICC Credentialing is responsible for development and administration of testing-related services, including internationally recognized certification program, a suite of contractor/trade examinations, and contract testing services. This division currently has a full-time staff of 12, led by the Vice-President. Primary functions within with the Credentialing department are to provide administrative support of a team consisting of a supervisor, psychometrician, Program Managers and their committees of subject matter experts, for certification and licensure examinations to strict departmental guidelines and quality standards. The Test Development Assistant reports directly to the Credentialing Supervisor.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Use item banking software to create and revise examinations, for administration through Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), computer-based, and/or online proctored testing with a quality towards zero defects Assist Program managers with : importing new items (questions) into item banking software – this position will become the go-to informational source for working within this software, arranging on-site meetings to include: assisting committee members with meeting arrangements, working with facilities management regarding meeting space and snacks, arranging lunches and dinners, taking committee meeting minutes as requested with a high level of accuracy Assist the department psychometrician with reports as needed Monitor the quality and accuracy of public information specific to examinations
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Associate’s degree in business management or related area preferred Must be proficient with computer software programs, including MS Office, and be able to learn in-house item banking-database programs Attention to detail, dedication to process improvement, and excellent organizational and time management skills Diplomacy, discretion, and flexibility to adapt to quickly changing projects and tight deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work individually as assigned, and as part of a team or work group
