QUALIFICATIONS
Alabama public school experience preferred but not required. Strong accounting/bookkeeping background with experience and/or formal training in computerized accounting. Experience with Harris/NextGen Budgetary Accounting System preferred but not required. Experience with PowerSchool Administrative Student Software preferred but not required. Word processing skills required. Database and spreadsheet skills preferred but not required. Effective human relation skills. Professionalism, dedication and flexibility. Must have a clear background check with the ABI and
FBI. REPORTS TO

OLC RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform secretarial duties as assigned by administrators. Perform bookkeeper duties as outlined by the
Opelika City Schools Accounting Department:
Record financial transactions on computerized accounting system. Receipt and deposit all funds on a timely basis. Prepare requisitions for purchases by the central office. Reconcile monthly bank statements and regulate expenditures of local and state funds. Assist in preparing and monitoring budget. Prepare payroll and related reports as required. File correspondence and other records. Compose a variety of documents, such as letters, student records, reports, memos, etc. Maintain an orderly work environment. Maintain good rapport with personnel, children and parents, while maintaining a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students, personnel and all job-related matters. In the absence of administrators, refer all discipline problems to the designated faculty member as directed by administration. Contact designated faculty member or superintendent’s office in case of emergency (in absence of administrators). Make bank deposits and any other errands deemed necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by administrators.
