SECRETARY FOR CURRICULUM DEPARTMENT

Curriculum Job Qualifications:

Associates Degree Proficient in word processing, data management, routine accounting and office organization. Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

Instruction Annual Calendar Days:

240 Days (12 months)

Responsibilities:

Perform secretarial duties for the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, the Coordinator for Elementary Education and the Coordinator for Secondary Education/Career Technical Education, Chief Technology Officer and Federal Programs Coordinator. Assist schools in monitoring allocation balances for various local, state, and federal funds. Maintain balances and create purchase orders. Process purchase orders with invoices and submit to Accounts Payable. Process field trip request forms. Generate purchase orders for all textbooks. Assist in inventory and distribution of textbooks. Duplicate materials for schools and community as needed. Prepare curriculum guides, professional development materials, observation/evaluation instruments and all curriculum related data. Prepare packets for recruitment and make arrangements for coordinator travel. Maintain filing system for curriculum, professional development, intern and textbook materials. Create and maintain PowerSchool PD courses and enrollment. Maintain files for compliance monitoring and accreditation for state and federal monitoring. Type form letters for Coordinators. Complete contracts and additional pay forms for payroll. Maintain a listing of mentors/mentees by school. Assist with operations for summer school, new teacher orientation, and professional development. Assist with affidavits. Secure translators for district and school events. Back up receptionist. Performs any other duties as assigned by administration.
