Duties include varied independent tasks requiring knowledge of student software and computer operation. Hours per week : Up to 19 hours/week. Work hours vary between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and must submit a complete application packet to be considered. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet students, potential students, visitors, and guests. Ascertain need(s) of students, faculty, and visitors, provide appropriate and accurate information and/or assistance and direct to appropriate person(s) or office(s) as needed. Answer the telephone; provide requested information or assistance or make appropriate referrals. Maintain a working knowledge of college information and policies with emphasis on providing accurate information especially regarding schedules, dual enrollment admissions and registration, placement testing and required documentation. Interface with other employees to provide efficient completion of daily operations Help maintain campus files and Banner. Assist in the management of Dual Enrollment adjunct faculty payroll (FLAC) Maintain a working knowledge of the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act as it pertains to the release and disclosure of student records. Assist with special events as assigned. Keep leadership apprised of operational and service issues affecting student needs. Assist with general office duties including entering requisitions, creation of dual enrollment sections and part-time faculty roster. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent and 15 quarter hours (10 semester hours) of postsecondary education in secretarial or related field OR high school diploma with two (2) years secretarial work experience is required . Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate through their experiences and accomplishments: Knowledge of word processing and database software. Knowledge of office procedures, and records management. Ability to proofread work for accuracy. Ability to use the telephone effectively. Ability to perform assigned secretarial tasks and to adhere to prescribed routines. Ability to maintain confidentiality of office information. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with faculty, students, other employees and the public. Effective oral and written communication skills.
