The selected candidate will provide high level administrative support to faculty, staff, students. This position will also be responsible for coordinating departmental operations, managing communications, handling clerical duties, supporting academic and professional activities with the College of Education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for the ELPL department, addressing inquiries from students, faculty, and external stakeholdersManage office operations, including scheduling meetings, maintaining records, and processing departmental correspondenceAssist in the preparation of reports, proposals, and official documents for he departmentMaintain departmental budgets and process financial transactions, including purchase orders and reimbursementsSupport faculty with curse scheduling, student records, and administrative needsCoordinate departmental events, including workshops, seminars, and faculty meetingsManage the flow of information between the department, College of Education, and universityCompose letters and memos from general notes, and proofread all materials typed to ensure accuracyTake dictation and type correspondences, memorandums, and instruction sheetsCompile factual information form files records, publications and other sources, and tabulates this information in accordance with standardized report formReceive, open, sort and distribute mail as directedMaintain accurate and current records of departmental purchases, equipment, travel statistical data, daily office activities, daily program activities and appointmentsEstablish and maintain accurate and current files of letters, reports, records and other documentary material, and ensure that information in these files is kept confidentialRender administrative assistance as directed in accordance with specific written or oral instructionsPrepare requests for office supplies as needed and received such suppliesHire and supervise student workersPerform office management duties, recommends methods for improving office procedures Perform other duties that may be assigned.
