PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR II

University of Alabama at Birmingham The Division of Infectious Diseases is dedicated to expanding PrEP at UAB to increase its uptake both locally and beyond. As part of this effort, the division is launching an initiative to establish an independent HIV prevention program. This initiative will require a committed team, led by the Medical Director of HIV Prevention. To support this effort, a new Program Administrator II position has been created to manage the day-to-day administration of the program under the guidance of the Program Director. The Program Administrator II will primarily oversee the PrEP Clinic (also known as the Personal Health Clinic) while also supporting broader HIV prevention initiatives within the Division. This role will involve collaboration with various departments across the UAB enterprise, including pharmacy, billing, and other key stakeholder groups. Key Roles & Responsibilities Administers the logistical support for a University-wide program, which is often of a large and/or complex nature. May participate in developing program plans, objectives and directives. May supervise support staff. Acts as a communication liaison with outside resources. Plans and carries out special projects related to the success of the program. Responsible for adherence to program budget. May provide education and training to UAB community Coordinate PrEP care for new existing patients including, but not limited to, appointment management and scheduling, billing resolution, insurance navigation, uninsured assistance, lab result follow-up, and prior authorizations. Coordinate outreach efforts for the PrEP Clinic. Respond to PrEP referral message pool in the EMR and coordinate all follow-up. Attend to various patient facing encounters including, but not limited to, phone consultations, patient portal messages, and walk-in visits Respond to patient needs for HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and all follow-up care Assist with PrEP education in collaboration with campus and broader community partners Coordinate PrEP Clinic provider coverage schedules Collaborate with key stakeholders on the

testing program Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and healthcare institutions to address gaps in care and improve patient retention. Perform other duties as assigned

$18.35-$29.80 Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
