Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Recreation Administrative Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Town’s recreation programs through a combination of administrative, clerical, and financial tasks. This position ensures smooth program operations by handling participant registrations, maintaining accurate financial and program records, coordinating facility rentals and schedules, and managing public communications—including social media and email marketing. The goal is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the department in alignment with Town policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the registration of program participants using recreation software (e.g., MyRec or similar). Maintain accurate bookkeeping and financial records related to programs and rentals. Support scheduling and coordination of facility rentals and recreation events. Develop and distribute digital communications, including social media posts, email blasts, and promotional materials. Provide excellent customer service and administrative support to the Recreation Department. Contribute to ongoing improvements in program delivery and administrative efficiency.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in municipal recreation or a similar environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, and email marketing platforms. Experience with MyRec or comparable registration and communication software. Strong data entry, clerical, and bookkeeping skills. Excellent communication skills—both written and digital. Creative, organized, and detail-oriented with a passion for community engagement. Background investigation and pre-employment physical required. Equal opportunity employer M/F/D/V.
