Federal Work Study – Administrative Assistant 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 341 Tigert Hall 300 SW 13th St, Gainesville, FL 32611 The Veterinary Forensic Sciences Laboratory (VFSL) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Federal Work Study Student Assistant to support a range of administrative and laboratory tasks. This part-time role offers students an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic clinical and research environment. The ideal candidate will exhibit professionalism, maintain confidentiality with sensitive information, and demonstrate the ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment. Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies.
- Assist with weekly laboratory audits.
- Schedule and set up meetings, including preparing materials.
- Type and edit documents and spreadsheets with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Assist with daily operations and administrative tasks, such as photocopying, filing, taking meeting minutes, tracking supplies, and sending email announcements.
- Help coordinate the VFSL events and activities.
- Perform other related duties and special assignments as required.
- 10 hours weekly.
Expected Salary:
$14.00
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a current UF student.
- Must be eligible for Summer semester Federal Work Study.
- Work in-person during office hours, Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, excluding UF holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Independent, creative thinker who can collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Courteous, reliable, and punctual.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Graphic design skills, including creating publications, social media graphics, and infographics.
- Experience with Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Suite design software.
