The Work You Will Do:

This position serves as a progress tracking assistant and is responsible for organizing and maintaining grant required support for the Florida Conservation Corps program participants. The Florida Conservation Corps (FLCC) currently consists of 6 staff and 65 AmeriCorps national service members who serve in 31 state parks and regional district offices. Members focus on invasive exotic plant management, recreational trail improvement and assessment, and volunteer recruitment and management. Additionally, FLCC members can deploy across Florida and other states in response to natural disasters. The trail assistant will assist in training and supporting disaster response deployment efforts. The incumbent for this position plays a vital role in managing training and tracking member’s progress, assuring the timely submittal of member paperwork, assisting members with program related questions, and maintaining electronic and hard copy files. This position develops, tests, and implements program tracking and trainings tools. Other duties include but are not limited to assisting with member recruitment, placement, and retention, ensuring compliance with the AmeriCorps grant contract, developing partnerships, helping to coordinate service projects, and assisting with the annual grant application process. This position is also responsible for assisting with purchasing and distributing member supplies as well as maintaining the inventory and organization of program equipment.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Develops, manages, and tracks member trainings necessary for service-related projects and tasks. Examples of common trainings include, but are not limited to:
Member Development
Civic Reflection (VF Required)
CPR/First Aid (VF Required)
DEP approved safety trainings
DEP required trainings
FLCC trainings Supports FLCC program needs through the development, testing, and implementation of tracking tools, including, but not limited to the following topics:
Member progress tracking and data collection
Member enrollment administration
Uniform and gear distribution
Recruitment and selection
Member and Staff Travel – creation & tracking
Member and Staff required trainings Maintains office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems. This includes identifying IT needs and maintaining program equipment, vehicles, and office supplies. Aides in maintaining compliance with the AmeriCorps grant agreement, including National Service Criminal History Check procedures, monthly invoice submission, member enrollment, and file maintenance Aides in the development and coordination of member service projects, including, but not limited to the following:
Service-Learning Project/Orientation, Member Outreach Development Mid-year Service Project Monthly Strike Teams

Year-End Service Project & Recognition Ceremony Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:

Administrative principles and practices Grant management and/or application processes Skill in: Computer operation and common program applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft 365, and Adobe Data collection and interpretation Effective written and verbal communication Ability to: Work with little or no supervision Utilize problem solving techniques and apply critical thinking skills Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Prepare correspondence and prepare administrative reports Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures Maintain a valid Class E driver’s license Successfully complete National Sex Offender Public Registry, FBI and FDLE background checks as part of National Service Criminal History Check requirements Represent the Florida Park Service and the Florida Conservation Corps in various public settings Manage multiple projects and priorities
