PERMIT ADMINISTRATOR, LAUNCH DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

The Permit Administrator role is designed to assist with day-to-day company operations related to permitting applications and management. This position involves supporting projects in administrative duties, organizing, tracking, applying for, and obtaining permits from governing agencies such as Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral Space Force, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Florida Department of Health, St. Johns Water Management District, and Canaveral Port Authority, for design and construction projects. This role involves considerable internal coordination amongst various design, construction, and operations teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Own permitting of various projects across all Launch operations sites.
Review and have a firm understanding of all lease requirements at each SpaceX building/site.
Prepare and submit permit packages with necessary supplementary drawings and documentations to obtain final approvals from the responsible Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

actual designs are prepared by others.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with various agencies listed above.
Ensure compliance of submittals: review that they are correct, meet objectives, and be diligent in managing team members for deliverables.
Assisting in addressing comments/violations through internal coordination and external communications with the agencies.
This role requires the applicant to have fundamental understanding of design and construction process on a wide range of different project types ranging from building, civil, health, and environmental.
Assist construction team on inspections coordination (during construction & final inspections).
Meet with internal teams and agencies as needed to coordinate expectations and timelines.
Organize and track all permits.
Manage permit expirations and renewals.
Identify potential risk to schedule and keep the design and construction teams informed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
3+ years of experience with permitting in the architecture, engineering and/or construction industry.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Word).
Must be proactive and the ability to work independently.
Preferred background in permitting coordination, construction management, architectural management, regulatory affairs, or similar.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral.
Must be willing to travel to county and state offices, as necessary.
Must be able to conduct field walk-throughs with internal or external partners, as necessary.
Must be willing to work overtime and holidays, as needed.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Pay range:

Permit Administrator/Level I:

$75,000.00 – $95,000.00/per year

Permit Administrator/Level II:

$90,000.00 – $115,000.00/per year Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
