Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Department Head, the Administrative Assistant provides and coordinates clerical support to the Department and in the administration of online programs and respiratory therapy programs in the College of Health Professions and Wellness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides administrative support to the Respiratory Therapy Department Head and Coordinator of Undergraduate Nursing Programs.
Manages the operational details of the Department of Respiratory Therapy.
Develops and refines work routine and carries out assignments through to completion with only unusually important or complicated tasks reviewed in detail.
Oversees and helps establish/maintain filing systems and maintains the database of the Respiratory Therapy Program.
Compiles data and numbers to incorporate into various reports.
Checks professional licensure/credentials on all Online Undergraduate students before admission.
Collaborates with various departments across campus to ensure student success.
Prepares forms, reports, or other materials requiring specific knowledge of methods, procedures, policies, or other information.
Sends out recruitment emails.
Assists with the RT Budget, CoARC accreditation, RT GO & Preview Days, and RT Senior Recognition Ceremony. Process admissions for the Online Undergraduate Programs.
Organizes correspondence requiring attention of supervisor; independently answers correspondence calling for standard information or materials and completes routine forms.
Receives, screens, and routes visitors; answers routine inquiries by phone, email or in person.
Receives, sorts according to content and delivers mail to UG online programs.
Maintains inventory of office supplies and materials of the Online and Graduate Academic Services department and the Department of Respiratory. Sends out mass emails to students about general information regarding scholarships, upcoming events, etc.
Helps assists with the MOU’s including, but not limited to, tracking of students, liaison between JSU and the MOU, coding students, etc. May supervise student workers.
Verifies submitted student timesheets. Returns for corrections if any issues identified. Collaborates with Payroll when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, and
At least two (2) years full time equivalent experience in clerical or administrative support

Experience working in higher education
