Hubbard House Survivor Support Advocate is the first point of contact for program participants, visitors, vendors, and guests. Advocates focus on Hubbard House program participants and go the extra mile to help, providing a supportive experience and maintaining a high degree of program participant satisfaction. Listens to program participants concerns, issues, and questions in a warm and engaging manner. Assist program participants by positively promoting Hubbard House services and the agency as a whole, answering questions and addressing concerns as they arise. This position is responsible for taking proactive steps to engage, improve, and search for long-standing solutions to future roadblocks for victims of domestic violence. This position is also responsible for general office coordination, administrative functions, and prioritize work from multiple sources.
PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES
Take proactive steps to engage, improve, and search for long-standing solutions to future roadblocks for survivors. Responsible for the overall coordination and of the Survivor Welcome Center. Greeting survivors, guests, and answering the telephone in a courteous and timely manner. Take accurate phone messages and route to responsible party in a timely manner. This also includes information and phone messages for Duval County Public School staff on-site. Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean survivor welcome center, 1st floor survivor supply closet, coffee/beverage station, library, meditation room, and laundry room. Maintain the security of all persons on the property. This includes granting access through the drive-through and walk-in gates to those with proper authorization. Responsible for getting signed Confidentiality Agreement for all visitors. Prepare various flyers, brochures, and forms in existing software. This includes layout and design using appropriate artwork from software programs such as MS Office, and other programs as required. Provide programmatic support by preparing and distributing correspondence, reports, agendas, and other documents as assigned. Maintain a filing system for Hubbard House, as instructed. Maintain the forms file, correspondence file, and check copies file. Produce accurate and timely work as instructed. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
Must possess strong customer-service/relationship-building skills and attributes: Positive & Friendly Attitude People Oriented Empathetic Courteous & Patient Team Player and Collaborative Willingness to Learn Strong Communication Skills Problem Solver Adaptability Responsible and Conscientious High School diploma or G.E.D. required. College degree in relevant field and/or one-year administrative or office experience preferred. Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: sexual assault or domestic violence programs. Must be able to read, write and speak English; bi-lingual capabilities a plus. If a driver’s license is required for this position, the following conditions apply: A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation are required. Vehicle insurance must be maintained. Must meet eligibility requirements for Hubbard House, Inc. vehicle insurance coverage. Due to the serious nature of the Hubbard House mission, must successfully clear background screening: 1) a level-2 background screening which includes a criminal background check through the Department of Family and Children (DCF), Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and the National Sex Offender Registry (at a minimum); 2) a motor vehicle report (MVR) is also run against the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV); and 3) a drug, alcohol, and TB screening. Must be able to produce proof of eligibility to work in the United States (E-Verify). This is an onsite position.
FULL TIME / NON-EXEMPT PAY
$17.00 per hour; commensurate with experience Hubbard House, Inc. follows all federal, state, and local laws. No phone calls, please.
