    Spherion Fort Myers is seeking a Support Services Assistant for a local government office.

The Support Services Assistant Assistant will be responsible for meeting and greeting visitors; answering multi-line telephone system; receiving and distributing general e-mails; and performing clerical and administrative tasks. This is a temporary role that could turn into permanent placement.

Responsibilities:

Greeting visitors and managing a multi-line phone system.
Handling general City emails.
Performing clerical and administrative tasks related to web-based citizen communications software, including managing user permissions and maintaining a log of non-emergency requests.
Drafting and posting press releases, announcements, and social media updates.
Providing photographic support and web-based updates.

Working hours:

8:00 AM

  • 5:00
PM Skills:

The incumbent must be readily available to work irregular schedules immediately before and after a severe weather emergency. Ability to work irregular hours based upon the need to disseminate information to the public and availability 24/7 for emergency alerts to the general public.

Education:

High School Experience:

1-4 years

Qualifications:

High School Diploma
An Associate’s Degree or three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in support services, public relations, communications, or journalism, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong writing and computer skills are required.
