Summary function:

Perform high level of administrative and program duties related to legal specialization and education.

Required minimum education:

High School Diploma (or its equivalency).

Required minimum professional work experience:

Five (5) years of progressively responsible office administrative experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide substantive and administrative support to the LSE Director and the Board of Legal Specialization and Education (BLSE). Assist in BLSE member education and orientation.

Prepare BLSE meeting agendas:

develop back-up materials and establish deadlines for agenda items, guide staff regarding information needed for Board review, perform research and prepare reports, and develop final package for dissemination and review online. Updates statistical information in the LSE database and departmental logs. Prepare and email monthly ballots of approved members to BLSE.

Assist in planning BLSE meetings:

coordinate BLSE dinners and communicate with attendees. Assist in planning and participate in subcommittee conference calls and meetings. Prepare for appellate review of certification and recertification applications, and exam grade challenges: organize and prepare appellate records, maintain files and dockets, advise on rule and policy interpretation for petition and appeal processes, assist in panel member education and orientation, communicate with appellants and reviewers, assure timeliness of filings, and prepare drafts of orders. Provide substantive support to the LSE Department. Serves as backup to the Administrative Support 4 to ensure public records requests through Gov/QA are completed, posting to certification social media and informz blasts. Serves as backup to creating the certification newsletter. The phone queue, CLE Mail, Course Accreditation, cash receipts, and certification needs, when needed. Provide training for departmental staff support regarding policies and procedures, and update staff on rule and policy changes. Participate in preparation of the annual report of the program: conduct research, compile data, and explain yearly decisions and activity. Respond to inquiries from Bar members and the public regarding the departmental programs understanding the distinction between confidential and public information as required by the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned.
