JOB SUMMARY

This is a Revenue Program Administrator I•SES position in the General Tax Administration (GTA) Program, Refunds and Revenue Accounting Process. The incumbent oversees, monitors, and coordinates the Accounting Services Unit, and serves as the key subject matter expert for the Revenue Receipts and Taxpayer Accounting Business Processes. The incumbent develops procedures to enhance the viability of the unit and ensures that business rules and other aspects of the financial system development and design are appropriately configured to accommodate the Department’s revenue reconciliation requirements. The incumbent also oversees the Tax Receipt Accounting Unit to ensure the timely reporting and accuracy of daily collections by GTA and provides direction in the resolution of data errors or system problems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Six years of professional accounting or auditing experience. Three years of financial reconciliation and accounting experience. Three years of experience supervising or managing employees.

SUBSTITUTIONS

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in accounting, finance, or other area of business can substitute for four years of the required accounting or auditing experience. Master’s degree in accounting or area of business can substitute for one year of professional accounting or auditing experience.

PREFERENCES

Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate knowledge of the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX). Preference will be given to applicants who have experience with reconciliation and distribution of state taxes. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience with Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) and Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM). Preference will be given to applicants with governmental accounting experience. Preference will be given to applicants with an accounting or finance degree.

SALARY:

The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $6,968.30 monthly/$83,619.60 annually.
