Job Description

Technology Desk & Scheduling Supervisor – FSU Libraries 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars Tallahassee, FL Department FSU Libraries Responsibilities Leads hiring and training efforts for the Strozier Technology Support Desk. Creates and updates weekly service desk schedules. Coordinates the interviewing and hiring process part-time staff. Trains, schedules, approves time sheets, and supervises part-time staff. Provides reports and budgets for staffing to the Access Services & Delivery (ASD) Technology Coordinator. Works collaboratively with all departments in Access Services & Delivery to cross train full-time and part time staff Assists with ordering, maintaining, cataloging, inventorying, and creating policies and procedures for circulating technology and improving scholars’ experience at the tech support desk. Troubleshoots basic circulation issues including locating materials and providing general information about library services to patrons. Assists scholars with technology and software troubleshooting and provides in-person and virtual reference services. Part of the team that processes ASD’s suite of library materials services including but not limited to Library Materials Requests, Library Express Delivery, Curbside Pick Up, Course Reserves, and Media Digitization. Participates in preparing reports in relation to these services. Assists with Collection Access projects as needed. Participates in other Access Services & Delivery and Library promotional activities in order to support the Library. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to five years. Preferred Qualifications Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to train and supervise employees. Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices. Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of data collection. Knowledge of the policies and practices of library services.
