Tallahassee State College is thrilled to announce a grant-funded opening for the position of Traffic Safety Fiscal Assistant – P09653 with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) State Safety Office. What You’ll Do As a Traffic Safety Fiscal Assistant you’ll play a key role in the Traffic Safety Fiscal Assistant is a grant funded position housed at the Florida Department of Transportation. The position reports directly to the Traffic Safety Administrator at the Florida Department of Transportation and is responsible for tracking and processing claims for reimbursements. You’ll have the chance to: Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for: Document and track the processing of claims for reimbursement received by the FDOT State Safety Office Create and maintain expenditure tracking spreadsheets Scan claims for reimbursement and transmit for payment Annually archive subgrant files Reconcile monthly payment logs to actual payment vouchers Create and mail concept paper notification letters Reconcile electronic files Review, create, and edit miscellaneous documents and correspondence Create forms required for subgrant execution (debar, risk, indirect) Facilitate document execution via the department’s DocuSign system Enter data in state and federal systems (FFATA, SAM, and GTS) Send notifications to staff regarding the status of pending claims, subgrants, and monitoring’s Track and mail safety items for distribution Who We’re Looking For We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success.

Our ideal candidate will have:

High school diploma or its equivalent. Two years’ experience as a staff assistant, support staff, administrative, secretary and/or related work experience requiring employees to be responsible for administrative work, office operations, or management assistance.

Bonus points if you have:

An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred and may substitute for two years of the required experience Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to review reimbursement claims against budgets. Ability to apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as a team player. Ability to work with a wide variety of people. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments using good time management skills. Ability to collect, organize and present data. Experience reconciling and reviewing financial reports. Excellent skills in the use of computers using word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
