JOB DESCRIPTION JOB GOAL

To perform the duties and functions of the position so that the effectiveness and efficiency of the office is maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent diploma. Minimum of one (1) year of successful clerical and/or secretarial office experience. Comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of the operation and program of the school. Knowledge of office practices and procedures, grammar, spelling and business correspondence. Knowledge of bookkeeping procedures. Ability to exercise independent judgment. Ability to deal effectively and courteously with students, school personnel, and the general public. Ability to type at a prescribed rate of speed. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize. Ability to use basic computer hardware and software. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complex financial records and reports. Ability to work independently and to make decisions with minimum supervision. Ability to handle multiple tasks in stressful situations with ease and efficiency. Ability to answer the phone in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Receive and receipt all monies deposited as required. Process all requisitions/purchases orders in compliance with district policy. Maintain all records in compliance with district policy. Assist staff to utilize funds and deposit funds in compliance with district policy. Requisition equipment and supplies as requested by supervisors. Monitor all assigned budgeted funds and grant monies. Receive all equipment and supplies and distribute to appropriate staff members as required. Prepare materials for auditors and cooperate fully with audit needs. Communicate with vendors as needed. Ensure adherence to good safety standards. Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters. Meet and deal effectively with the staff members, students, administrators and other contact persons using tact and good judgment. Exhibit interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member. Model and maintain high ethical standards. Represent the district in a positive and professional manner. Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities. Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner. Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, administration and vendors. Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events. Prepare all required reports and maintain all appropriate records. Maintain expertise in assigned area to fulfill project goals and objectives. Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment. Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light Work:

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.
