SPECIAL NOTES
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional requirements:
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
A minimum of two (2) years’ clerical experience.
A valid and current driver’s license. This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment. This position is located in Ocala, Florida and will be hired at an annual salary of $38,500.00. Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle. Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported by the state application and any omission, falsification, or misrepresentation in the answering of the qualifying questions will be cause for immediate elimination from the selection process. Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following
REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of administrative principles and practices. Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
Knowledge of the methods of data collection. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication. Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to administrative functions such as accounting and personnel.
Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to utilize problem solving techniques. Ability to work independently. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Coordinate and process minimum standards applications and coordinates with Field Representatives to schedule state practical exams with each of the 50 Certified Training Centers. This also includes background record reviews to determine eligibility for firefighter certification. Maintains Firefighters Supplemental Compensation Program within the Florida State database system, supports fire department managers in the auditing and renewal of the Firefighters Supplemental Compensation Program, quarterly validates eligibility requirements, conducts enrollment procedures, processes cessation and re-entry of Firefighters Supplemental Compensation Program participants. Provides general office support for other administrative tasks within the Standards Section of the Bureau and related work as required or assigned by the supervisor.
