Administrative Assistant-Exempt St Thomas University Inc 16401 NW 37th Avenue, Miami Gardens, FL 33054 About St. Thomas University and the Academy St. Thomas University, guided by its Catholic identity and commitment to justice, service, and human dignity, houses the John Brunetti Human Trafficking Academy within the Benjamin L. Crump College of Law. The Academy is a leader in education, training, and policy development in the global fight against human trafficking. We work to empower professionals and communities to create survivor-centered responses through interdisciplinary programming and high-impact advocacy. Position Summary The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the mission-driven work of the John J. Brunetti Human Trafficking Academy. Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Assistant is responsible for a wide range of administrative, operational, and communications tasks. This position supports the planning and execution of educational programs, outreach efforts, and high- level logistical coordination, contributing to the Academy’s national and international impact in anti-trafficking work.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support for day-to-day Academy operations Assist in the planning and coordination of trainings, events, and workshops Manage scheduling, communication, and logistics for speakers and participants Prepare and format materials using tools such as Microsoft Office, Canva, and Adobe Coordinate travel, accommodation, and payment documentation for Academy guests Maintain records, filing systems, and internal documentation Manage the Academy’s digital communications, including email campaigns, website updates, and Constant Contact Design promotional materials including flyers, brochures, and digital content Track event registrations and participant engagement Respond to inquiries via phone and email in a professional manner Supervise graduate fellows and student volunteers as assigned Serve as liaison with university departments and external partners Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator or Director Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of relevant office or administrative experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Experience using digital platforms such as Canva, Constant Contact, and Adobe Commitment to the mission of social justice and human dignity Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or human rights organizations Familiarity with WordPress and basic graphic design tools (Photoshop, InDesign) Experience in communications, marketing, or event coordination Work Environment and Benefits Opportunity to contribute to impactful, mission-driven work Values-based workplace grounded in Catholic social teaching Supportive and collaborative team environment Access to university resources and professional development Located on the vibrant campus of St. Thomas University Immediate availability preferred How to Apply To apply, please submit your resume to humantrafficking@stu.edu .
