Personal Support Assistant Maly’s Special Support North Miami Beach, FL 33160 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and promoting independence in a home or community setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in meal preparation, first aid, and working with individuals with disabilities, along with a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and meal preparation. Support individuals in community integration and participation in social activities. Monitor and document vital signs as needed, ensuring the health and safety of clients. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Assist clients in navigating their environment, including lifting or transferring when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe living space for clients, adhering to health and safety standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding client confidentiality. Experience Previous experience working with people who have developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Familiarity with home community care practices is preferred. Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond to emergencies effectively. Experience in nursing home settings is a plus but not required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
