Our Resident Services Programs assist residents with specialized enhanced asset building activities and programs developed to promote leadership skills, personal growth, independent development and empowered self-sufficiency. THIS IS NOT A JOB IN THE HEALTHCARE AREA RESIDENT SERVICES COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing comprehensive resident activities as directed by the Resident Services Manager. This individual is accountable for developing and fostering effective relationships with property managers, community organizations, government agencies and ONIC residents. This position must be able to commute between multiple work locations. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifies and addresses issues that may affect residents’ well-being or property operations.
- Assesses and surveys residents to determine their interests, goals, progress, and satisfaction.
- Builds relationships with residents, providing them with information and referrals to access community resources.
- Coordinates events and programs as determined in the work plan, utilizing data and information to meet required objectives.
- Develops, implements, and coordinates activities that engage residents based on the work plan framework; recruits and actively works to retain resident participation in these activities.
- Communicates policies, procedures and guidelines to program participants.
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with community partners and service providers.
- Works with Property Management to develop, implement effective strategies, and action plans for services coordination and resident satisfaction, like evection prevention and conflict resolution.
- Regularly communicates relevant information to the Resident Services Manager.
- Acts in accordance with annual work plans and budgets to develop and implement activities.
- Prepares and submits required reports.
- Maintains up to date electronic and physical files.
- Participates in required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Treats all residents fairly with dignity and respect, while providing a professional service.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Resident Services Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from four-year college or university in Human Services, Social Work, Community Services, or similar field; or four years of experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to pass level II background check fingerprinting.
- Required computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite.
- Other skills required: o Ability to learn and use other software programs and applications needed.
o Ability to write and edit work for spelling and grammar. o Ability to read and interpret written information. o Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, to listen and get clarification, and to perform group presentations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Continually required to talk, hear, and observe. Continually required to use the telephone and standard office equipment such as computer, copier, and fax. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally required to bend, stoop, or kneel.
While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 pounds. The employee must maintain regular hours at the ONIC premises or at any other prescribed place of work. Reliable transportation is required to travel to various locations. When operating a vehicle, a current Driver’s License and proof of motor vehicle liability insurance are required. May be required to attend occasional evening or weekend events.
