POSITION SUMMARY
The Genetics Implementation Specialist will work with assigned clients to train and assist with implementing Genetics Suite products. The implementation and configuration will require defining system scopes and objectives based on user requirements and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements. This position may also support product development activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Implementation
Travel to a client site to perform implementation activities.
Assess client’s current workflow and, working with the client, document future state workflow. Coordinate and meet with clients and business leaders in conjunction with software architects and development teams to ensure that the file build design’s direction, scope, and dependencies, and any gaps are identified and documented.
Provide client training, including System Configuration Training, Super User Training, and any other project-specific training as needed.
Create/review/revise test cases as needed (includes client-created).
Support and assist the client with end-user training as needed. Assist the client with validation techniques for delivered software.
Review client test cases for accuracy regarding the client’s specific build and workflow.
Provide the client with support throughout the implementation processes and milestones, ensuring completion of milestones by or before project plan deadlines.
Hold weekly client calls and/or Webex sessions with client Subject Matter Experts groups to review, build, test, validate, and provide training progress and remote assistance.
Smoke-test software deliveries in specified environments (including clients).
Procure weekly status information for the BA, AE, or Project Manager to prepare weekly status updates.
Perform implementation activities as directed by the Genetics Implementation Manager or designee, e.g., PM, BA.
Escalate all project risks to the Genetics Implementation Manager, PM, or BA as appropriate.
Client Development
Travel to various locations as needed
Although enhancements or development of software should be strictly controlled, the Genetics Implementation Specialist should be able to: Translate client business requirements into concise system requirements in SCC’s development tool.
Review/revise/approve requirements in SCC’s development tool.
Review/revise/approve test cases outlined in SCC’s development tool.
Review/revise/approve release notes as outlined in SCC’s development tool.
Review/revise system manuals and training curriculums for clients and products as needed.
Perform/revise/approve client complaint documentation.
Perform/revise/approve risk to health documentation.
Prepare for and provide Sales Demos as requested.
Provide feedback and materials for sales and marketing initiatives as requested.
Travel to promote new business as requested.
Participate and support executive projects as requested.
Provide information for RFPs as requested.
Participate in the initiation of integration with other products as needed.
Collect information to support department initiatives as needed.
Create/review/revise department and quality system standard operating procedures as needed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Healthcare/clinical-related field (Medical Technology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cytotechnology, Histotechnology, etc.), preferably with a Computer Science background. Must have at least an Associate’s Degree. Certification or License in a clinically related field (Cytogenetics, Histotechnology, Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Sciences, or related) by the State of Florida, ASCLS, ASCP, or other national certifying organizations is desired.
Experience Required:
The candidate will have at least 5 years of experience with SCC Genetics Suite modules or have been determined to meet the qualifications determined by the Genetics Implementation Manager. The candidate will have experience in general laboratory, cytogenetics, molecular genetics, flow cytometry, biochemistry, immunogenetics, cytology, or histology/pathology. The Candidate will have experience reviewing complex or ambiguous pathology specimens and ensuring quality control and accuracy in cytological analyses.
Experience in clinical diagnostic laboratories and proficiency in genetics or pathology theory and laboratory practice, specimen preparation, and processing are preferred.
Skills Required:
Ability to learn and understand existing business processes. Strong technical, non-technical, spoken, and written communication skills are required to work with a wide array of business users, including software developers, clients, and executive management. Expert analytical and problem-solving skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to work independently with minimal direction and as a team player. Dedication to meeting the requirements and expectations of internal and external customers; accurate anticipation of future consequences and trends; desire to stay abreast of technical developments in the field; strong attention to detail and follow-through; highly organized and detail oriented.
This position requires strong knowledge of project management and large-scale development projects’ software development lifecycle (SDLC).
